TEXT: John8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Previous study revealed that having complete knowledge of the truth that concerns Jesus will deliver us from the kingdom of hell to the kingdom of God’s son.

Now what is this truth?
John14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. The start of every misconception comes from believing that truth is a thing to know but I tell you, the truth we pronounce here is not a thing but a personality. Jesus said I am the way,the truth…this reveals that truth is a person, the person of Jesus. John1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Since Jesus is the truth, truth must come through him so he said no one cometh unto the father except through Him(truth).

The sense of John8:32 is to know the truth of the gospel as it is in Jesus. It is a very powerful entity and of no use if you don’t know it. Many are long lost on the wrong road and yet claim to walk in the truth like the Jews who professed to know the truth and to be the official expounders of it. They are yet to learn that truth was not only a system but also a power.

TRUTH SPONSOR OUR SALVATION
Now there is a need to know the truth, which is a sense of knowing Jesus and the Jesus that we know will set us free. The coming to know Jesus(truth) dispels the darkness in which he’s the stronghold of evil. There must be some knowledge of truth in our mind before it can believe for how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard Rom10:14. John1:12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. As many that receive the truth possess the power to become son of God. Seeking and walking close with God through Jesus is the power behind salvation. Only the saving knowledge of Christ that bring a man into a perfect liberty from the law and from the dominion of sin and corruption.

Sanctification is like based on the truth. John17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
The people of God are to be sanctified in truth because God’s word is truth. What is God’s word? Jhn1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Jhn1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Jesus is the word that came in flesh full of truth. TRUTH is all we need.

Our realm is govern by knowledge and when knowledge is apply gives result. Hosea4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge…The major reason for destruction is the lacking of knowledge of the truth. Psalm82:5Effect of darkness is known where knowledge is lost. Darkness is from the Greek word ‘SKOTOS’ meaning everything that is anti-God morally and physically. It connotes confusion, ignorance, perdition matt.22:13, 1Sam2:9, and falsehood Isa.5:20,30. Falsehood has covered tje earth just like Isaiah prophesied Isa60:2 men are full of falsities.Prov2:13-14

Light is from the Greek word ‘Phos’ meaning truth and its knowledge, together with the spiritual purity congruous with it. Jesus in Jhn8:12 said He’s the light of the word and anyone who follows Him will not walk in darkness. In Jhn1:7, John came to witness Jesus who is the light. Vs5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. Vs4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. Now to have light connote living the life of Christ like in Gal.2:20.
The saving truth is embodied in Christ and by His and effort imparted to mankind everything made manifest by the aid of christian truth. Truth has taken on the nature of light, so that its true character and quality are no longer hidden. A christian(son of the light) is expected to take no part in the work of darkness but exposing them as they are impure Eph5:11, 1Cor6:14. Knowledge tells us that there is no partnership between light and darkness rather light dispels darkness. Having this great deal of light we are to walk in it thereof.

Fruit of the light manifest and they are those things that are good and right Eph5:9-10 this is why Paul asked in Phil4:8 to think only of those things that are pure. Contend for the knowledge of the truth for the degree of light a man possesses will determine how far he will go in the journey of faith.

Text: Phil1:24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful to you.

Let’s today look at the Greek meaning of the text.
‘To abide’ is from the Greek word ‘EPIMENO’ meaning to tarry still, to continue. ‘In the flesh’ is from the Greek word ‘SARX’ meaning physical body while ‘more needful’ is from the Greek word ‘ANAGKAIOS’ meaning making something necessary, what you can’t do without.

The text can be best written like this: nevertheless to tarry still in the physical body is what I can’t do without for you.

Paul here is talking about two good thing for him one of which is to be with God of which he considered to be the best and the other to remain in the physical body all for the saint. A purposeful man is never living for himself but for others.

Every man is a pilgrim here on earth. This pilgrimage journey must be prong for the service of our Lord Jesus Christ and for the benefit of humanity. There is never a way death could touch us until we are through with our work on earth. Psal118:17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. Why? We are the workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Staying in the flesh is dying to selfish desires in order to live to serve others for Jesus sake. Paul wanted to depart and be with Christ but the people in Philippi needed the ministry gift and so he was ready to deny his desire to serve them for Christ sake.

You likewise have a purpose why you are living, the purpose of which must be identify and fulfilled.
